Weapon Scaling in Dead Cells: How Stats Raise Your Damage

Every weapon has a colour

Each weapon carries a colour: red, purple or green. That colour ties the weapon to one stat.

Red gear scales with Brutality, purple with Tactics, and green with Survival. A weapon hits harder as its matching stat grows.

Scrolls raise one stat

You find scrolls while exploring a biome. Most let you place a point into the stat of your choice.

Each point lifts the damage of every weapon that shares that colour. A point also raises your maximum health.

Why a split build wastes points

Spreading scrolls across all three stats leaves every weapon underpowered. Two stats can work when your gear shares both colours.

A focused build puts most points into one stat and picks gear to match.

Match gear to your scrolls

Take a weapon only if its colour matches the stat you are growing. A strong weapon in the wrong colour deals less than a plain one that fits.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my weapon so weak with full scrolls?

Your scrolls likely went into a different colour. A weapon only gains damage from the stat that matches its colour.

Can I run two colours at once?

Yes, if both weapons share those colours. Splitting across all three stats leaves each weapon underpowered.

How do Dead Cells scrolls raise weapon damage?

Each scroll adds a point to one stat. Every weapon that matches that colour gains damage, and the gain grows as the stat climbs.

Which stat should I raise in Dead Cells?

Pick the colour your two attack weapons share. Put most scrolls there, and let a second colour tag along only when your gear uses it.
