Dead Cells DLC Overview: What Each Expansion Adds

How the expansions work

Dead Cells gained content through free updates and paid expansions. Every release folds into the same run, so new biomes join the existing map.

You do not pick a DLC before a run. Its biomes and weapons appear alongside the base game.

The free update

The Rise of the Giant update arrived free and added a late-game biome and a brutal boss. It also deepened the highest difficulty tier.

The Bad Seed added two early biomes and plant-themed gear. Fatal Falls opened high routes with new weapons and a boss.

The Queen and the Sea took the run to a flooded coast and a final stretch. Return to Castlevania crossed the game with a famous castle.

What to expect

Each expansion keeps the same core loop. New gear joins the drop pool and new routes branch from biomes you know.

If you own none, the base run still stands on its own. Expansions widen the choices rather than change the rules.
