Blue items with a bill
Lunar items are blue and cost lunar coins, a separate currency from gold. Each one gives a large upside and a large downside.
The downside is the point. A lunar item is a choice about what you are willing to lose.
Upside and downside
A lunar item raises one part of your kit and lowers another. Some trade health for damage. Some trade control for power.
Read both halves before you buy. The upside is loud, and the downside is the part that ends runs later.
Lunar coins
Lunar coins come from a few sources, and you carry them between runs. That lasting stock makes each purchase a real decision.
Spending coins on a lunar item you do not need drains a resource you cannot refill mid-run.
When a lunar item helps
Take one when its upside patches a hole in your build. If you cannot kill the teleporter boss fast enough, a damage-focused lunar item can fix that.
The upside should solve a problem you already have. Buying one for a vague edge is how the downside sneaks up on you.
When to skip
Skip a lunar item when its downside attacks your core plan. A trade that guts your health or mobility breaks the survival you built the run around.
Also skip when you are healthy on time. A run that is keeping pace with the clock does not need a risky trade.
The clean rule
Ask what breaks if the downside is permanent, because it is. If the answer is “my whole build”, walk past the shop.
