Two doors, one slot
Only one of these rooms tends to appear after a boss. The game picks based on how you played the floor.
Both rooms hold powerful items. The difference is the price and the odds of seeing one.
How a Devil room appears
A Devil room is likelier when you reach the boss without losing red hearts. Avoiding damage on the way pays off here.
Soul hearts and other buffers change the math. Damage that skips your red hearts keeps the chance alive.
What a Devil deal costs
Devil items are paid for with heart containers. A strong item can cost one, two, or even three of them.
That price is real. Losing containers lowers your health ceiling for the rest of the run.
Soul hearts can sometimes cover part of the cost. Red heart containers cannot be replaced easily once gone.
Angel rooms and the trade-off
Skipping Devil deals pushes the odds toward an Angel room. Angel items usually cost nothing to take.
The trade is patience for safety. You give up an early Devil item to keep your containers and gain a free one later.
Neither room is the correct answer every run. Read your health and your build before you commit.
