Spells and Codes in Vampire Survivors

Spells are official, not a cheat tool

Vampire Survivors ships with an input system it calls spells. You type a phrase and the game hands you a character, a stage, a weapon, or an Arcana.

Nothing here needs a mod, a save editor, or an external program. The developer adds spells with updates, which is also why third-party lists go stale.

Opening the Secrets menu

Spells are cast in the Secrets menu. That menu is locked at first, and there are two ways in.

The permanent route runs through The Bone Zone. Unlock the stage, then head south from the start toward the question mark on your map.

That marker is Sketamari, a rolling ball of skeletons that grows as it absorbs other enemies. Kill it and pick up the drop: the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane. With that relic in hand, a Secrets entry appears on the main menu for good.

The temporary route needs the Yellow Sign relic. Open the Collection and tap the Yellow Sign entry seven times. The game answers with “You are now a magician!” and the Secrets menu opens for that session only.

Codes that work without the relic

A handful of phrases work on the main menu with a fresh save. Type them while the main menu is up.

Randomazzo and the Arcana systemrandomazzami

The Exdash code is the fussy one. Type it quickly, without pausing, and expect no text box or prompt. Check your character list afterward.

A wrong code does nothing at all. There is no error message, so a misspelling looks identical to a code that never existed.

The two spells that change a whole run

Inside the Secrets menu, two phrases rewrite your options rather than unlocking a single thing.

  • everything adds every weapon to your level-up choices.
  • everywhere unlocks the five main stages and their Hyper versions.

Both are worth knowing for a save you are rebuilding on a new platform.

The Arcana spells

Arcanas normally come from Randomazzo and stage drops. These phrases hand them to you directly.

Character and relic spells

The Secrets log shows a hint for every spell it knows. Read those hints in-game before trusting any list, including this one. Community lists misspell these phrases often, and a misspelling is silent.

A few phrases appear identically in the official patch notes and in independent community lists, which makes them the safe ones to try first.

Typing a spell

A few rules make the difference between a code that fires and one that does nothing.

You get roughly thirty seconds between keypresses, so stay with the input. Controller and Steam Deck players can bring up an on-screen keyboard instead of typing on a pad. A correct spell plays the ordinary unlock sound, and that sound is your only confirmation.

Spells do not disable achievements. They are a shortcut past unlock conditions, not a sandbox mode.

Where to go next

If you are filling the roster, secret characters and coffins covers the characters that are found rather than typed. Arcana guide explains what each Arcana does once you have it.

New to the game? Start with how a run works, then use stage selection to decide which map to learn first.

Everything else sits on the Vampire Survivors guides hub.

Frequently asked questions

What are spells in Vampire Survivors?

Spells are the game's built-in code system. You type a phrase into the Secrets menu and the game unlocks a character, a stage, a weapon, or an Arcana for you.

Do spells disable achievements in Vampire Survivors?

No. Spells are an official part of the game, not a cheat tool, and using them does not block achievements or progress.

How do I unlock the Secrets menu in Vampire Survivors?

Defeat Sketamari in The Bone Zone and pick up the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane. A Secrets entry then appears on the main menu permanently.

Where is the Secrets menu in Vampire Survivors?

It opens from the main menu once you hold the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane. The Yellow Sign gives a temporary version of the same menu for one session.
