How to read this table

This table lists every Olympian god and the core boon they grant. Effects are written in plain English and stay qualitative on purpose.

We have not filled in exact numbers because those need a pass against the game’s own data. Treat each entry as a direction, not a stat line.

Olympian core boons

GodCore boon (plain language)
ZeusLightning that deals damage and can arc to nearby foes, spreading hits around a group.
PoseidonKnockback that shoves enemies away and can slam them into walls for bonus damage.
AthenaDefensive effects, including a block that deflects incoming attacks back at the attacker.
AresDamage that lingers on the foe as a bleed, hurting them over time after the hit.
AphroditeEffects that weaken a foe so it deals less damage and takes more from your hits.
DionysusBuildup that stacks with repeated hits and then triggers a damaging festive burst.
ArtemisCritical hits that land a chance to deal extra damage on the strikes they touch.
DemeterChill that slows enemies and, at full stack, can freeze them in place for a moment.
HermesUtility boosts to speed, dash, and other tempo, helping you move and act faster.

The Olympians above are the core cast. Other sources of boons exist, and Duo and Legendary tiers build on these foundations.

Next: Boon priorities for building a run.

Frequently asked questions

Are the boon numbers on this page exact?

No. The effects are described in plain English and stay qualitative. We mark exact figures only after checking them against the game's own data.

Which god should I pick first?

That depends on your weapon and play style. The boon priorities page walks through the choice for a first escape.

Which Hades god is best for a new player?

Athena is the safest first pick in Hades. Her deflect boons turn defence into damage and cover mistakes while you learn the rooms.

Does Hades have more boons than the Olympian core set?

Yes. Duo and Legendary boons build on the Olympian core, and Chaos offers boons from its own gates.
